Cathy Alsup serves as the lead consultant for Hope Partners Hawaii. She previously served as the American Cancer Society’s Executive Director, Hawaii and Guam, and also led their recently completed $14.5 million Hope Lodge Hawaii capital campaign. During her twelve years at the American Cancer Society, Cathy was awarded the organization’s top major gifts award as Nationwide Major Gifts Director of the Year and Top Performer in 2015.
Cathy was also awarded the Outstanding Professional Fundraiser in 2016 for the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Aloha Chapter. In 2015, she earned the prestigious CFRE designation from CFRE International, only one of 24 fundraisers in Hawaii with this level of certification. Cathy currently serves as Past President for the Board of Directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Aloha Chapter.
Previously, Cathy was President of Marketing Solutions Hawaii, Inc. and Principal of The FundDevelopment Group, LLC, as a consultant in fundraising and marketing for over thirty non-profit clients.
Her experience and expertise includes grant writing, annual giving, special events, capital campaigns, major gifts, strategic planning, board development, direct mail, public relations, database management, planned giving and marketing. Born and raised in Hawaii, Cathy graduated from Punahou School, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon.
Chris Alsup serves as the Chief Creative Officer for Hope Partners Hawai‘i. His experience in the non-profit world includes roles as fundraiser, volunteer, event planner, relationship builder and grant writer.
Trained as a master storyteller in seminary, Chris has effectively communicated mission and vision through years of sermon preparation, event development, youth mission programs, prison ministry, high school teaching, and relationship building.
